I've been noodling pairing these in a brioche project of some sort, what has our interest though... cowl? scarf? toque?   • This haunting beauty was insipired by the beauty of aurora rainbow quartz. Aurora is a pale ethereal grey bathed in pops of colours at two saturations, creating a soft but vibrant all-over iridescent rainbow. Aurora is a lovely almost magical blend of colours reminiscent of pearl nacre, opals and fairy wings and is non-pooling and low contrast allowing for stitch definition to still be well maintained. Currently freshly listed in superwash merino 4ply worsted weight and the sturdy yet sweetly soft superwash merino with nylon fingering weight blend, perfect for socks and shawls.   • Ocean Purl is reminiscent of the nare of pearls, a warm creamy base with delicate pools of peach, magenta, blue and aqua overlayed in flowing watercolour rainbows representing the mineral rich rainbows in oyster shell and treasures of the sea. This colourway is a subtle and flowing watercolour colourway that is fairy wing and unicorn magic in super short colour repeats and layered colours that will not generally flash or pool.   • Happy Wednesday friends, hope your week is working out amazingly so far. Now that the holiday festivities are wound down and (most) of the decorations are put away, we move toward the return to routine, the spring and the longer days of golden sunlight to come. Speaking of gold, we've recently snuck some skeins on the site, to include the lovely spun gold shown here. Gold Rush is a rich golden colourway with a blend of straw, golden and mustard undertones that create an almost metallic sheen. It represents the precious metal and was inspired by the rich history of gold prospecting and panning in various parts of BC but in particular, the settlement that prospected the banks of the Leech river and established the now ghostly and mostly gone Leechtown.   • Happy Friday friends! Magnum, Pitch Black and bare yarn are playing together wonderfully in this toque I made for the Yarnsquatch. I'm newish to colourwork and really enjoy this design as it never floats more than 3 stitches, requiring no yarn twist to secure the floats, and preventing the puckering and uneven tension I always get when securing floats behind. The band of colour work itself is a manageable portion of the toque, with the rest in plain knitting, keeping the challenge level manageable. I hope to release this design as a beginner friendly introduction to stranded colour work at some point when I get it written up. This design will be a great stash buster that works amazingly well with semi-solid and tonal yarns especially.
